M.Y.S. Pens DEI Plan as Equity Lead for Southern Nevada’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge
March 14, 2022

The $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge led by the U.S. Economic Development Administration is a distinguished element of the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Regional Challenge initiatives intend to rebuild American communities that have been impacted by the pandemic, many already having experienced decades of stalled economic growth.

Led by the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), the Southern Nevada Regional Growth Cluster submitted Phase II of the application after being selected as one of the 60 finalists out of 529 applicants nationwide to be one of the 20-30 coalitions funded up to $100 million processes in Phase I. The grant supports eight crucial infrastructure projects with a focus on advanced manufacturing that will work to transform and diversify the regional economy to alleviate the region’s reliance on tourism and gaming industries.

As a member of the Administrative team, M.Y.S. Firm President Myisha Boyce facilitated data collection from community stakeholders in partnership with the Latin Chamber of Commerce, Urban Chamber of Commerce, and Asian Chamber of Commerce, resulting in the creation of the Equity Plan to ensure both short- and long-term benefits of all projects will be equitably distributed across all Nevadans.
